About Us
The Medusa Project
We're a Dallas-based women's self defense company, and we teach women of all backgrounds how to defend themselves with a holistic approach. We focus on progressive classes to help our students retain the skills we teach so they can have the most effective self defense if needed.

Our Story
Hi, we're Nooreen and Brittany. We're training partners and great friends who have a passion for martial arts and training women to find their inner strength. We started teaching one-day self defenses classes for women, but decided it wasn't enough for our students. We didn't want them to just have one class, as training is something you need to continuously do in order to retain the skills to do it effectively - especially in high stress situations. We knew that progressive classes were needed, but wanted to make our programs reachable to women who may have never had the desire to walk into a martial arts gym. We wanted to be able to start women from ground zero: women who were too intimidated, uncomfortable, or discouraged to learn how to defend themselves. We've designed our events and programs with the beginner in mind, while using our skills sets from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, strength training, and breath work to give them a well-rounded toolkit to be successful.

We want women to feel confident and resilient through our classes - not just learning how to throw a punch or create frames to escape. We want women to learn how to set boundaries, communicate clearly and confidently, make smart decisions to get themselves to safety, and extend their shield of protection to those around them when needed. We want women to see and feel their power through training, so you don't just have the skills to do it, but you believe that you truly can.
